Mountain bike racing is getting underway around the world, and a record 107 teams have registered as UCI Mountain Bike Teams for thee 2010 season. The United States has the third highest number of UCI teams with 12, compared to the 14 Italian and 15 French squads. For U.S.-based pro teams that are not registered with the UCI, registration as a USA Cycling Mountain Bike Domestic Pro Team is required in order to be tabulated into the Pro XCT Team Rankings.

The second event on the 2010 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Ultra-Endurance Calendar, the Spa City 6-Hour Mountain Bike Race, took place over the weekend in Hot Springs, Ark. Evan Plews and Rebecca Rusch picked up victories. After two events, Plews and Rita Borelli lead the elite men’s and women’s standings.
